Rally Outside ("Rally") is an app for planning time outside with your people, timed to the light, the tide and the trail. It's made in Los Angeles, California. This page says what Rally keeps, who sees it, and what we never do. Questions: support@rallyoutside.com.
What we never do
- We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. There are no ads in Rally.
- Rally does not use analytics or advertising trackers. If you've chosen in your iPhone's settings to share diagnostics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports.
- There are no public profiles, and nobody can search for you.
- Rally never tracks your location. A location is saved only when you tap Drop a pin during an outing.
What Rally keeps
- Your account: your email address, to send you a sign-in code.
- You: your first name, an optional last initial, your picture, your home area (a neighborhood, not an address), how you get around, and the activities you choose.
- Plans: the plans you make or join, who's on them, notes you write, and your I'm in and Pass answers.
- Back by: the time you'll be back, the person you chose, their mobile number once they agree, and any pins you drop on the way.
- The Log: your words and your photos.
- Your contacts: when you search your contacts, the search happens on your phone. Rally receives only the people you pick.
Who sees what
- A plan is seen only by its host and the people on it. They see your first name and picture.
- Your words in the Log are yours alone. Photos in a shared album are seen by the people who were there.
- Your back-by contact sees only what's in the text: where you started and your last pin, if you dropped one.
Text messages
Rally texts a back-by contact only after that person agrees on our website. We use their number only to send those texts. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any Rally text to stop them, and HELP for help.
Services that run Rally
These companies process data only to provide their part of Rally:
- Supabase: our database and photo storage, in the United States.
- Resend: sign-in emails.
- Twilio: back-by text messages.
- Vercel: this website.
- Apple and Expo: delivering the app and its updates.
To show conditions, Rally asks the National Weather Service, NOAA and AirNow about the places in your plans. It sends them a place's location, never yours.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account in the app, under You, then Settings. That deletes your profile, the plans you host, your Log, your photos and your back-by contacts. A plan you host is deleted for everyone on it. Plans you joined stay for the others, without you, and shared albums stay for the people who were there, without your photos. Copies in our backups are gone within 30 days. You can also ask us by email to see or delete what Rally holds about you, wherever you live.
Age
Rally is for adults. You need to be 18 or older to use it, and you confirm that when you sign up. We don't knowingly keep information about anyone under 18. If you think someone under 18 has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect.
